Enumeration type column in Ruby on Rails

This post is moved to my new blog. Read this post there

  1. Thanks for creating this. I really feel as though I know so much more about the topic than I did before. You should continue this, Im sure most people would agree youve got a gift.

  2. How to get enum-column working with Rails 3.0.x

    1. active_record_helper.rb: Put a “if respond_to? :to_tag”-Block around the “to_tag”- and the “alias”-Definition
    2. mysql2_adapter.rb: Create this file from the mysql2_adapter.rb and rename the class- and module-names from “Mysql” to “Mysql2”
    3. init.rb: Put this line just after the existing mysql-require-line “require ‘enum/mysql2_adapter’ if defined? ActiveRecord::ConnectionAdapters::Mysql2Adapter”

  3. Absolutely brilliant post, been following your blog for 3 days now and i should say i am starting to like your post. and now how do i subscribe to your blog?

  4. Strange this post is totaly unrelated to what I was searching google for, but it was listed on the first page. I guess your doing something right if Google likes you enough to put you on the first page of a non related search.
